Jul 18    Sparrow's Nest Thrift Store and Donation Center's Grand Opening!
Home of the Sparrow is pleased to announce the grand opening of its 7th Thrift Store and Donation Center at 34500 N. US Hwy 45 (Waterstone Place Shopping Center) in the Village of Third Lake. The Grand Opening and ribbon cutting will take place at 10:00am on Tuesday, July 18th. New Store Manager, Chris Ross, stated: “I am overwhelmed with the support we have received from the surrounding community, other store managers, volunteers, and new staff. I can’t wait to showcase our new beautiful store thanks to all of the help, donations, and hard work from everyone.”
Home of the Sparrow has been operating thrift stores since the early 1990s and currently has 6 Thrift Store and Donation Centers located in Algonquin, Cary, McHenry, Mundelein, Palatine and Woodstock. The Sparrow’s Nests support the mission of Home of the Sparrow, a 501(c)3 non-profit organization that provides housing and supportive services to homeless women and children in Northern Illinois. 100% of the net proceeds from the stores directly assist Home of the Sparrow programs. The Sparrow's Nests are also a zero cost provider of clothing, furniture and housewares to Home of the Sparrow clients and clients of other neighboring agencies in Northern Illinois.
Kevin Campbell, Vice President of Retail for Home of the Sparrow, states:  “Our organization is very grateful for the warm reception we have received from the Village of Third Lake. We are very excited to begin new relationships with residents, donors, and businesses in the area. We are confident that our store will be a great neighbor to Third Lake and surrounding communities as our agency works to reduce homelessness among women and children in Northern Illinois.”
If you are interested in volunteering for the store contact Jennifer, Volunteer Coordinator, at 815-217-5444.
